Beloved One,

Private thoughts are an ego defense, and we practice their release. Here are some Helpful quotes from ACIM:

Jesus taught us:

"To learn this course requires willingness to question every value that you hold. Not one can be kept hidden and obscure but it win jeopardize your learning. No one can escape from illusions unless he looks at them, for not looking is the way they are protected. There is no need to shrink from illusions, for they cannot be dangerous. We are ready to look more closely at the ego's thought system because together we have the lamp that will dispel it, and since you realize you do not want it, you must be ready." T-11.V.1.

The world of images was made to take the place of God. To forgive the world, you must raise to your awareness the ego belief system that made it. That belief system is in mind. The world is the representation of private thoughts. The world is entirely in mind.

Nothing can happen to you apart from what your mind desires. If you wholly desire the peace of God, that must be your experience. The Holy Spirit uses what was made in hate to teach the meaning of true forgiveness. The miracle will remind you that the false is false, and you will experience peace.

Private Thoughts Block the Holy Instant

If I have no private thoughts, I cannot see a private world. I can also call upon my real thoughts, which share everything with everyone. As my thoughts of separation call to the separation thoughts of others, so my real thoughts awaken the real thoughts in them. And the world my real thoughts show me will dawn on their sight as well as mine. W-54.3. (18)

The holy instant is a time in which you receive and give perfect communication. It is a time in which your mind is open, both to receive and give. It is the recognition that all minds are in communication. It therefore seeks to change nothing, but merely to accept everything. T-15.IV.6

How can you do this when you would prefer to have private thoughts and keep them? The only way you could do that would be to deny the perfect communication that makes the holy instant what it is. You believe you can harbor thoughts you would not share, and that salvation lies in keeping thoughts to yourself alone.

For in private thoughts, known only to yourself, you think you find a way to keep what you would have alone, and share what you would share. And then you wonder why it is that you are not in full communication with those around you, and with God Who surrounds all of you together. T-15.IV.7

Every thought you would keep hidden shuts communication off, because you would have it so. It is impossible to recognize perfect communication while breaking communication holds value to you. Ask yourself honestly, "Would I want to have perfect communication, and am I wholly willing to let everything that interferes with it go forever?" If the answer is no, then the Holy Spirit's readiness to give it to you is not enough to make it yours, for you are not ready to share it with Him. And it cannot come into a mind that has decided to oppose it. For the holy instant is given and received with equal willingness, being the acceptance of the single Will that governs all thought. T-15.IV.8.

The necessary condition for the holy instant does not require that you have no thoughts that are not pure. But it does require that you have none that you would keep. Innocence is not of your making. It is given you the instant you would have it. Atonement would not be if there were no need for it. You will not be able to accept perfect communication as long as you would hide it from yourself. For what you would hide is hidden from you. In your practice, then, try only to be vigilant against deception, and seek not to protect the thoughts you would keep to yourself. Let the Holy Spirit's purity shine them away, and bring all your awareness to the readiness for purity He offers you. Thus will He make you ready to acknowledge that you are host to God, and hostage to no one and to nothing. T-15.IV.9.

Exposing Private Thoughts

It is important to expose private thoughts in order to be in full communication, which is the only state in which God can be known. The ego wants to keep them hidden and will always defend against exposing private thoughts. But exposing private thoughts only seems personal and threatening to the ego that is identified with them. Confession, properly perceived, offers only release.

Having "no private thoughts" is a fast-track for healing. Intense as it may be at first, trusting mighty companions and being willing to "take the lid off" of these feelings and thoughts and to "put it out there" brings peace, because then you can see that the thoughts are not true; they are not reflective of who you are, which allows you to laugh at them. This gives your mind the opportunity to heal. Your relationships then can only become more trusting, loving, open and honest when you continue to trust the Holy Spirit, your right mind, to lead the way.

To Release Private Thoughts

1. Notice them.

2. Bring them to the light by voicing them in an environment of trust. (like the Living Miracles Monastery or one of our retreats)

3. See that they are nothing and detach from them. :) (this takes lots of practice in handing them over and Seeing them with the Holy Spirit.)

The hippity-hop travel days are over and the upcoming world tour has 2 main
destinations for exploring living in community and diving into the depths of
Awakening: Mallorca, Spain and Nelson Bay, Australia. The world tour concludes
at the Living Miracles Monastery near Fruitland, Utah in March, 2011 where the
Messengers of Peace are based and where we have our ongoing community of the
Heart.

Mysticism is Calling us. The Messengers remain a symbol for this deep
devotional life, and the way is clear. On my visit to Hawaii this past April
Jack Luckett predicted my prime traveling days would be ending, and I have to
say that I am feeling that way. I have felt for awhile that I would be living
and sharing and shining with a small group of people, and the experience on the
island of Mallorca for 6 weeks and on Nelson Bay for 8 weeks will be wonderful
entry points into this Mystical life of communal living. Our Miracles Monastery
is now prepared and fully-functioning, awaiting our arrival after the 2011 San
Francisco ACIM Conference.

I am so grateful for all the people who hosted me for the last 19 years, and for
those that are hosting me on this upcoming tour. I feel so very blessed and
humbled by the outpouring of Love and hospitality, and I will always remember
your Love and Welcoming.

It is wonderful to hear from you! Thanks for your question & request.

If there was an answer to the question, "How and when was the ego created?" it would give reality to that which has no reality. If the ego had a source, then it would be real. And so to ask this question is still to assume that the impossible did happen, and to look to the past or words for answers.

The experience of the Answer is within this moment! and you can seek it here and now. It is the Moment which ends all questions & seeking. :)

In practical terms, this kind of question is simply an ego delay tactic to avoid the acceptance of the Correction in the present moment, which remains one's only responsibility. An experience is available now in which one sees that the impossible did not happen. Why look to the past? History would not even seem to exist if one wasn't continuing to make the same mistake in the present.

Whenever one is looking for a historical answer or theology to explain the impossible, just be aware that it is a delay maneuver. Remember, right now, this very instant, there is the opportunity to be completely absolved of guilt and fear, completely healed forever. Remind yourself, "I don't want to figure out how the impossible happened, since that cannot be figured out. What I want is healing; I want to accept the Atonement for myself."

As for the retreat in Mallorca, it would be a Joy to see you there! For JP too I'm sure!

Brother!

I could start wiht asking how you are? How do you feel? What have you done lately? Where have you been? Or, it´s been a long time since. All terms and voices from the ego that doesn´t say anything. :) Instead, it´s lovely to write to you and sharing what is.

We haven´t been spoken or written to each other but you have been in my awareness. In my mind I have joined you to many retreats all over when I have been listening to cd:s in the car. Thanks for what you do in the name of love!

I have had some months of preparation so to speak. The willingness wasn´t really ready until now. I came to a crossroad where no comprimises was possible longer. A few days ago The Holy Spirit said to me: Welcome to the land between! I guess you know what I mean. I´m no longer in the world made of the ego but I haven´t reach the state our Father created. There is still some steps for the mind to take. This is not words from Niklas the person because he doesn´t know what progress is. :)

However, the time has come or better said, the time is now. The inspiration says it´s time to share the great message. I knew it theoretically for a long time but now I can feel it. The experience of sharing. The Holy Spirit guided me to you to be able to take the remain steps, out from the zone of nowhere. :) So I´m asking you brother: Is there something I could do or think about?

Hi David!

So many thanks for your answer! I recently wrote to Jenny and said that I problaby will come on the open evening the 27th. Two hours of sharing love would be wonderful.

Unfortunately I can´t join you at Mallorca. Five months ago me and Laila took care of a four year old boy (dog). The ego would say that he have had some pretty tough years from his old home. Drugs, physical abuse, narcotics and so on. You know the story. But to go beyond form, to se that you never could harm a physical form, that the past just is a shodow to remove, is beautiful. He has been a wonderful guide that shows what true love is. That Love has no reason, that is is a state that shines through when The Holy Spirit shows what true forgivness really are. It´s wonderful!

So what I´m trying to say is that our hairy brother join us wherever we go. :) But I´m sure there we´ll be oppurtunitis to come together even in the world of form. Don´t you think?

I have been struggling with something in the course and I was wondering what your thoughts about it were... On page 221 in the text, section 4-the part that says "Recognize what does not matter, and if your brothers ask you for something outrageous, do it because it does not matter....." This section is really bothering me. Is Jesus suggesting we do whatever anyone asks from us, even if we don't feel like it or want too?? Am I misunderstanding this? Thank u:)

Hi Melissa,

About 100 pages later in the ACIM Text he extends this statement to include the idea (...as long as it does not harm you or another). The statement is designed to "expand" awareness through willingness beyond ego "comfort levels" by learning to follow the Holy Spirit (even when it seems to be a stretch) and become truly Helpful.

An example is when I was Guided to pick up hitch-hikers when I was traveling by car years ago. It was not something David would have ever done, because it seemed outrageous. Every time I followed the Guidance it was very miraculous.

Istalled skype at my parents place and got a glimps of connection, then it failed. The internet is to slow. When not to many pepole are online at that particular connection (It´s called "spray") the internet goes faster and even facebook works.

From here in the duality capital of the world, NY. Where the ego has so many trendy trinkets called distractions. Shiny and fashionable things that others value which do not make us anything but jaded. I recall our talks.... how you showed me one of your past preferences. Specialness with food... presentation. I watched the thought come up and you just said no and the desire vanished. I wanted that, so down the rabbit hole I went. Byron Katie Inquiry, PIQ... the experiences and the music. Music is the siren call of the ego. It drives egoic identity 3 levels down, inception style. I believe I am in a holy relationship with someone. One lesson trust and have faith you are the love you seek, you will be ok. And knowing that, feeling it. I am there. Your inception seed of Hip Hop music has help me heal so much. The ego has this placed covered. Everything is a pull. Friends, family, the stars, the sun, music, family, sex, love, distractions..... they are the siren call of the ego. Stay here, it lulls. Yet just as easily as you said "No" and meant it. Vanishes. I now understand the level of WILL you spoke of, bastard, you know i say that with all the love my lower i self feels.... wow. A rapper friend of mine, an inception projection wrote about the illusionary concept of time. Tah phrum duh bush. He struggles with lack of sleep please reach out to him for me. Reach out to me so I can see him as capable. I need clarity with certain concepts and beliefs. A times it is hard to to distinguish from self and SELF. I read his book and heard myself admit to thinking and speaking his words, they were me. I do not fear loosing the mind. I say each moment. God is Right and I am wrong about myself... others, you and everything. I don't know my own best interests or what anything is for. Humbling to say the least for a Die hard New Yorker. What an identity, it like egoic terets. An assault on the senses, that is what music is. The stars a siren call compared to GOD.... trinkets. Debris. Well still waiting for you thoughts on inception.

Dear David,

This is hard to explain but here goes, I actually feel like I don't anything anymore. I've been studying The Course about 3 yrs. now, and my mind feels like a big empty balloon, really. All the things I thought I knew I realize I don't. I don't really know if The Course is true because EVERYTHING is a projection . the course as well, Jesus Holy Spirt, Maybe God is also. I just don't know This feels so uncomfortable to mymind, that now I wonder if this is a lesson, part of the process of emptying of false beliefs and constructs. But really, if the mind can make a Universe, cosmos planets and separate bodies than is it possible it could construct a fairy tale about this big loving Daddy that loves you unconditionally, eternally, forever and ever Amen. I need some help with this because I'm wondering if there is an 'Absolute Truth" is there anything that we can know for sure. I know the course says God Is, that's the absolute truth. I just don't know. Help!!

Yes, the emptying and undoing seems very disorienting to the ego, and yet eventually everything perceived comes right side up instead of the former upside down. I am with you all the way!!! Peace is the consistent, stabilzed feeling that emerges, and in fact was always Present. The relative seems to get washed and washed and washed away before everything stablizes and reflects the Absolute - the Happy Dream! Come join in deeply, and let go, and trust -and you shall experience what I'm pointing at with these words.

This is Bradley. I called you from Wisconsin about a year ago when I was kind of at a dead end, not sure where the next step would be. You referred me to Bumpity where I met my now best friend Donna whom you also referred to Bumpity. Everything is in perfect and divine order and things have been flowing so well. I am now in a place so different from where I was that it is as though I was a lowly worm, transformed by love into a beautiful butterfly. The reason I'm e-mailing you now is because Donna and I are being pushed out of the places we both are now. I am not afraid but everything is falling apart that needs to and Donna and I are waiting for guidance on what to do next. Both of us are now back to not having anywhere to go. We have been shown explicitly that we are ready to do our work. We are ready to do God's work. Donna actually called me right as I was about to call her and we were both in the same position of being completely pushed out. We decided that we would ask for guidance about what we would do next and after immediately meditating for a little while I remembered when you helped me so very much last year.

I hear many Course people say, since we are living in the illusion, we have to deal with the illusion like taking care of bodies, going to Dr. paying bills etc. otherwise we are in denial. I thought our purpose is to awaken from the illusion and with Holy Spirit, we can transform our minds and then look upon a different world. Specifically, if we are to trust one Voice and all healing is possible with Holy Spirit, can't we put the body under the dominion of Holy Spirit and heal through the Devine Mind; or is this a form of denial. How else do we build our faith, if we keep trying to listen to two voices or follow two different authorities, or straddle the fence? What is denial? I am trying to listen to the Voice for God. I have always had physical symptoms and in the past made up stories; ran to Md's who confirmed the stories and now I am trying to build trust in the healing power of Spirit. Am I in denial?

Well spoken. Yes, put the body and symbols of the world under the dominion of Holy Spirit, and heal through the Divine Mind. The world is false perception, and it is necessary to question all beliefs and assumptions to release the denial of Spirit by developing trust in Holy Spirit for absolutely everything. By opening and listening & following the belief in separation is dissolved, the mind sees the world anew, and faith is withdrawn from the ego's beliefs.

My present job teaching mostly pilates and some therapy feels tiring and not what I am ment to do. Even a regular life feels wrong. what an amazing journey home you are awakening to. Thank you for sharing it with all of us, much appreciated.
My name is Enda, and i'm living in Ireland, i had a very dark nightmare for most of this lifetime, caught up in addictions to alcohol, drugs, sex and gambling.
On October 13th 2001 I had a deep spiritual awakening when I was visited by the Holy Spirit in the middle of a suicide attempt when i cried out and asked God to help me. From that experience my life has changed immeasurably. I have been clean sober and gamble free for last 8.5 years.
My beginnings in life were that I was separated at birth from birth mam, adopted, with no info on who am I, or where I was from. This beginning I now see as a blessing since over the last 8 years after cleaning up I began the search of "Who Am I?"
Last April I came upon ACIM and that search has stopped. I have been struggling at times over my studying and practicing of lessons with a stop/start stop/start pattern emerging. A pattern in my life is to abandon and sabotage all GOoD things that occur in my life and at present my mind is like a battlefield with the ego wanting me to abandon and sabotage myself again.
At very rare times i hear a whisper from the Holy Spirit within telling me to Trust. My outer life is in a pretty mess at the minute regarding finances, no fixed abode, spending too much time online, with smoking cigarrettes and the ego keeps telling me I am a fake.

Would you have any suggestions for me on how to overcome this within my mind and find true peace and return Home to Our Creator?

I dont understand. lessons are requiring of me hourly structured reminders. I have been so caught up in practicalities, a new lovely relationship, a house move and i must be defended against learning still (can you tell am repeating the work book ;-)
Anyways, in order to remain in the lovely house i have just moved to, i need to find a good job (it will be busy again and I will be distracted)
help - i think i must still be very frightened as i have so many distractions and my mind feels so undisciplined. I want to keep the flat as it is a good base to help heal myself and others - i will be running a wednesday evening acim group with the holy spirits help i hope.
I am trying trying - i forgive myself for being so weak :-(

I am trying to be as authentic as possible. I prayed for years for things to happen in my life and then as soon as I encountered the course last year my mind changed radically, now all of these things have happened in my life and I am finding they are distractions - but they are fun/nice/happy distractions. Now i am trying to reconcile both worlds and they dont mix in the slightest.
I feel angry as i write as i believe i dont have time for the course lessons - but this is not true either as i would make time and make them a priority. I want to do this, but i just seem to be going with the flow of my life and its taking me away.
I spent a few hours joining with someone yesterday over course material and it was heaven :-) - discipline is something i am very seriously encouraged to develop.

Thanks for taking the time to write. There is a stage called the Happy Dream in which the world is seen as illusion, and the false is seen as false. This is an experience of tranquil watching of the dream, and it is very Joyful. In 3 revelatory experiences the world disappeared, and the thin veil of perception was seen in perspective. Awakening from the dream brings the disappearance of the time-space linear universe, though first is the state of complete forgiveness.

Dear David, I am still just as devoted to be a messenger. That has not and will not change.

During the birth of Tim, I was sucked away from this world, and God asked me if I could do it, "walk away" from my children and do my "mission", and I said yes.
Than he gave me the choice to choose between the ego and Love/God and showed me a round picture split in half, and one half represented God, and the other the ego. I said "I choose God, I choose God!" The picture started to spin and I used every bit of my being to find in me the True Love, The True Me, and I found it, and it filed me completely and I choose it. Then I was sucked back to the world of form, and I didn't know to where I was sucked back, or WHO was sucked back.
I looked around and everything looked as a cartoon.

I saw my mother sit at the other side of the bed, and I looked at her and wondered what she would say about the fact that I had been unconscious for several minutes.
But I saw in here eyes that she had not been aware at all that I had been gone. No one had. No time had past in the world of form.

I wondered who I was now and what the "reality" in the world of form was now. Was this over? The labors where gone.

But then they started again and more "God experiences" happened, but I will have to tell you about that another time.

has proved to be a helpful exercise.

I have been asking friends whether they feel 'love' for themselves and this has
proved a helpful exercise. I have seen that the degree to which they answer yes,
its largely contingent on the degree they feel they get what they deserve, would
like, ask for. In the way of things, but also loving behaviour they crave from
others (even whether they have a partner or not).

Therefore it makes sense that the more personal preferences one is supporting,
the less love one is able to feel for ourselves and of course reflectively the
less love we feel for others or God. So the answer is in releasing personal
preferences by.......

Attending a 'retreat' hosted by David Hoffmeister and his helpers.....they will
see em and free em so fast as to shock you...tee.hee!

Refining the ability to see a personal preference in action, 'live' so to speak
and seeing how it is interfering with your inner peace.

Accepting one does not know ones own best interest and that you give it all the
meaning it has for you.

Accepting that in any case what occurs out there is not real, and if it does not
seem to be as one would choose and damn well feels real, we can take this as a
prompt to release the preference, not buy the feeling and see through the whole
illusion

The paradox is that as a direct result of not feeling one is deserving enough,
good enough, or not lovable enough, one's disposition to buy what we construe as
evidence of this, grows, which in turns upholds the feeling/belief. The trumped
up evidence has the ability to interfere with our feeling love! Disastrously it
actually causes us to overlook all those things that would assist us to feel
loving, loved and lovable.

Of course it seems difficult to really gauge how much one really feels self
love. A good indication is how much love one feels for others. But this too is
largely unquantifiable, but a great indicator is one's penchant to say "thank
you".

If you dont feel there is much that occurs to say 'thankyou' for, or the word
sticks in your throat as far as thanking others (or God) then the release of
personal preferences could be the way forward. But even adopting the 'attitude
of gratitude' can help, even if it feels a bit false at first.

In my experience, as my ability to say 'thank you' and feel gratitude grew, the
more there was to genuinely be thankful grateful for.

So to all of you reading this I say...

I feel grateful for all of you in my life right now.

Hi David,

I found your website online a couple of weeks ago and have been
fascinated. I have been a very serious student of the course for 2
1/2 years now and am at a bit of an impasse. I do not know any
other course students at all, because I quit my job and began
traveling extensively overseas and across the USA specifically to
concentrate on the Course. The results have been slow, but steady
and amazing.

About 6 weeks ago, I was told by the Holy Spirit to "walk the
earth". I knew that this would be/will be inevitable and mandatory,
just a Jesus did, because it is the only way to clean out all fear
and to enable complete concentration. I was just incredibly
surprised at how soon I was told to do this. I thought it would be
3 more years at least. Quite frankly, it frightened me a bit
because I do not feel ready. I asked "what will I do, where will I
go?" and was told "move in the body of Christ" which I take to mean
go from church to church, all denominations, initially. I should
also mention that I "found" a book on the Peace Pilgrim about 3
weeks before this happened. I had heard the name years before, but
had forgotten about her and never did know what she did.

All this prompted me to search more intensely on the web for ACIM
web sites desperately looking for anyone who had done this. That is
when I found your site and was amazed. I have listened to many of
the online meetings, and was impressed by what a fabulous speaker
you are, able to share without proselytizing. I need to learn how
to speak about the course, but have not yet had a chance to do so.
I also feel that I am still on the "learning circuit" rather than
the speaking circuit because I have not yet reached inner peace and
have much to learn.

So why am I writing? I really want to talk to other ACIM people who
understand the more advanced stuff that I hope to learn. Also, I
would like to know what your experiences were, what you did, and
what happened. I would really like to find another ACIM person who
also has been "called" as I have to walk the earth and walk
together. Do you know anyone like me that I could contact? I
believe Jesus sent his apostles out 2 by 2, but I'm not sure. I
feel that I would be much less fearful if I had another person with
me who had the same goals. I also felt that I was asked to carry
nothing but the Course book with me. Yikes! No sleeping bag, no
nothing!

I went up into the mountains for a few days to fast and pray, and
was inspired to think about an organization of ACIM people who walk
the earth as pilgrims 2 by 2, being directly trained by the Holy
Spirit for at least a year at a time. Some people would want to
continue doing it and could bring out new people who, like me, would
love to learn like this but do not yet have the faith to do it alone
(yes, I know, we are never alone). It would be neat if Americans
began to become familiar with pilgrims walking the countryside.
What a demonstration in faith! I believe part of the Peace
Pilgrim's earthly mission was to show that this could be done, and
complete reliance on God is possible.

I am not sure what to do. I semi-decided to move down to Los
Angeles and get a job and join a course study group. I was also
planning on getting involved in 2 or 3 churches to greatly increase
my learning and communication skills with this material. I have
this driving desire to talk to pastors and ministers and find out
what they know about God, what they have learned and to say "teach
me". I am very interested in the Church of Christ Scientist which
supposedly has people who do bone fide faith healing. I want
exposure to this. I am ready to be a sponge. But as I start
looking for a job in the WORLD, I am not crazy about it. I am
already spending too much time paying attention to the resume,
what "profession" I should be in, etc. I am spending much less time
concentrating on the course. That's it. Worldly stuff makes me
break my concentration and I am becoming re-absorbed back into all
this stuff I k now is absolutely meaningless (i.e. "rules" of how to
dress for an interview, good grief!). The job search process is
also making me realize how deeply frightened this world is and how
it constantly is searching for guilt. For example, most employers
want background checks, credit checks, DMV checks. It is really
unbelievable. How I long work for God and be completely out of
the "money" system!

Hopefully this e-mail isn't overwhelming for you. I haven't had the
chance to talk to anyone who could understand what the Course does
to you. I literally feel like I'm standing with one foot in two
worlds, and I will have to choose soon. Thank you for taking the

Thanks for pouring your heart out with such openess. You are being
Called, and everyone is Called. In this world the ego's voice and
goals can seem to crowd out the Holy Spirit's Voice, and though
everyone is Called few seem to listen and Answer. To Answer is
simply to be happy, for God's Will is for Perfect Happiness. The
time-space cosmos was made as a mechanism to avoid the Perfect
Happiness of the Kingdom of Heaven. Yet in Answering the Call there
can only be happiness. It is my joy to meet with you while I am in
California and explore everything entailed in Answering the Call.

Trust in the Holy Spirit is the key to Awakening. To the extent you
are able to trust HS you will increasingly be aware that you have no
problems. The ego was a limit placed on unlimited comunication, and
as you are willing to communicate you will attract communication to
you. There are two friends, Deb and Paul, who are embarking on a
similar Calling in September - traveling with a camper to Wisconsin
and then around to meet ACIM students wherever invited. A simple
life of listening and trusting and following will transfer the
lesson of forgiveness to encompass your entire perception. Healed
perception is integrated perception, and in this not one person,
place, or thing is held apart from the blessing the miracle brings.
Trust would settle every problem now, and a simple life of trust
will yield immediate results in terms of peace of mind.

Salvation is not for sale. Enlightenment is not for sale. Those
who would truly Give offer freely what has been received from the
Holy Spirit. Rituals fall away as the mind yields to Divine
Spontaneity. The desire to "get" dissolves in True Giving. Travel
can be a symbol for the willingness to share and the willingness to
Flow and accept and to not expect. What shows up is perfect in that
it is orchestrated and provided by One Who Knows your best interests
in every seeming situation. Everything is for one's best interests
in healed perception. To surrender is to yield the personal
perspective in favor of the Flow.

If you would trust do not attempt to activate the past, organize the
present, or plan the future. If there are plans to be made you will
be told of them by our Inner Wisdom and they will be for the benefit
of everyone. The miracle meets every perceived need in one gentle
perspective, and leaves a blessing for all.

I am with you all the way, and we cannot fail in a Plan destined to
Awaken all in Oneness and Love. Take my hand and we shall skip
along singing and rejoicing as we go. For we but seem to travel in
happy dreams of forgiveness, all the while safe at Home in God.

Leave the structure of the ego's world with Me and enter into
another world of happy, peaceful perception. There is no loss in
this exchange, for dreams of pain are over now. Leave the world of
giving to get, of paying to partake, of repeating past mistakes.
Come join me in the real world, a world inspired by joy that knows
not of a fear of consequences. You have a Great Gift to share, for
you are Divine Love Itself. Nothing can hold you back from your
appointed function, for God goes with Us All Now.

Hi David,

I wanted to get some clarity about a deep issue in mind. The passage
in chapter 12 crucifixion by guilt 2nd last paragraph reads: "The
Atonement has always been interpreted as the release from guilt, and
this is correct if it is understood. Yet even when I have interpreted
it for you you have rejected it and have not accepted it for
yourself. You have recognized the futility of the ego and its
offerings but though you do not want the ego you do not look upon the
alternative with gladness. You are afaid of redemption and believe it
will kill you.( what does this mean?) (if this is true no wonder I am
resisting salvation) (how do I overcome this?) Make no mistake about
the depth of your fear. For you believe that in the presence of
truth, you will turn on yourself and destroy yourself." (help can you
explain this)

I feel right now tremendous guilt and pain in my mind and it is
manifesting physically in that I feel sick nearly all the time and
have constant severe headaches. I feel like my mind in contracting in
terror and I try to relax and use the lessons (its not true its just
a dream) but it doesnt penetrate the depths where it changes and I
Know its not true. I keep my life as simple as possible and I hardly
have any energy -I have to lay down all the time. And it seems to be
getting worse. The paragraph which touched me the most in the whole
text is in the fear of redemption paragraph 7. It touched a nerve and
feels like this is the place I am at in my mind. It reads:

"The reason you must look upon your delusions and not keep them
hidden is that they do not rest on their own foundation. In
concealment they appear to do so, and thus they seem to be self
sustained. This is the fundamental illusion on which they rest. For
beneath them and concealed as long as they are hidden is the loving
mind that thought it made them in anger. And the pain in this mind is
so apparent when it is uncovered that its need of healing cannot be
denied. Not all the tricks and games you offer it can heal it for
here is the real crucifixion of gods son..."( Can you explain this)

I also get confused on how not to identify with the ego when Jesus is
talking in the course directly to the ego (eg., he says 'you
believe'....how am I meant to not identify with the ego and expose it
at the same time, seems so confusing. Help I feel so embarassed
exposing this because part of my mind knows its a lie yet the other
part doesn't. Does that make sense? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for pouring out your heart with the willingness to release the
block. Together we will look at the questions you have raised, one
by one, about the passage in ACIM that you read.

1. "You are afaid of redemption and believe it will kill you."

To come to this world is a witness to the belief that Heaven has been
replaced by error, or that Truth has been replaced by illusions. To
the mind that has forgotten its True Identity (Light), the Light is
indeed very fearful. The self-concept was made as a replacement for
Love, and as the self-concept is exposed and released the ego judges
redemption as its own death. Thus the Holy Spirit, which the ego
does not know but suspects, is believed to be the killer and the ego,
which is the belief in death, is believed to be real and having
existence. The Holy Spirit is actually the reminder of and the
memory of Spirit, Which is Life. Yet Life, and Life's Representative
are threats to the ego.

2. How do I overcome this?

All this is overcome by miracles, the shifts in perspective that show
the false as false, and the cosmos as unreal. So many miracles are
needed for the sleeping mind to be convinced that the cosmos is only
a dream of images that have no meaning.

3. "...make no mistake about the depth of your fear. For you believe
that in the presence of truth, you will turn on yourself and destroy
yourself."(help can you explain this)

The ego is the belief in Self-destruction, and so this is a version
of Psychic suicide in the Face of Truth.

Beyond all the games and tricks on the surface is hidden pain, and
healing cannot occur until this pain is acknowledged instead of
denied. Yet once acknowledged the pain can quickly be released.
Illusions which are not protected from the Light will disappear,
simply because they have no foundation.

5. I also get confused on how not to identify with the ego when
Jesus is talking in the course directly to the ego (eg. he says you
believe....how am I meant to not identify with the ego and expose it
at the same time, seems so confusing. Help I feel so embarassed
exposing this because part of my mind knows its a lie yet the other
part doesn't - does that make sense?

The exposure of the ego seems difficult only because the ego is
judging itself and the Awakening. Yet judgment has no basis, and an
error condemning itself is insane but not beyond Correction. ACIM
has many metaphors (as if the separation had happened) yet these must
be released as well when they no longer serve. Just be willing to
follow the instructions of the Workbook, and let the rest of the
healing process unfold step by seeming step.

I am joined with you in the healing. Thanks for your willingness to
look upon the insanity of the ego belief system. It cannot ever be
understood, only forgiven or released.

6 week devotional retreat in Mallorca, Spain

Blessings of Joy. Last year's 4 week devotional retreat in Mallorca, Spain was
so inspiring and transformational, that we have decided to hold a 6 week
devotional retreat this Fall (mid-October through November) once again on the
island of Mallorca, Spain.

Healing the mind using the example of parenting

Hello David,

I am a relatively new student of A Course in Miracles, and am happy to share with you the Light and Love that has entered my life as a result. At this stage I am only half way through the Lessons, but am also an avid reader of related texts, such as Brent Haskell, Gary Renard and yourself!! My friends and I meet every fortnight to study the Text and share our love and thoughts. I have also been fortunate enough to share with Jason, Kirsten and Mel several times during their stay in NSW (where I live), and am looking forward to meeting them again with you and the other Messengers in March, at Frank Barker's retreat in the Kangaroo Valley.

I felt guided to write to you today however, with respect to a situation I have within my home that requires much Forgiveness, and all of a sudden, I am not coping. I have been unable to discuss it with Jason or Kirsten in truth, although I have had the opportunity, but I am just unable to go there in discussion, or even in my mind - I usually bring down the veil with a smile and brush it off.

My son was born at the end of my first marriage to a very aggressive and intimidating man which ended 12 years ago. I have 3 children, of whom my son, the youngest at 16 years of age, has Aspergers Syndrome (a form of autism). He also suffers from Epilepsy in the form of Absent Partial Seizures. When he has these seizures he speaks of very strong deja vu, and then of wild, extremely violent dreams during the short 'absent' periods (usually around 2 minutes) from his woken state. They are currently increasing in occurrence and seem to be uncontrolled by medication, and we are spending more and more time at the hospital having tests. He is also aggressive in nature and very argumentative, and this, together with him being 220lbs and 6 ft 2in at his age, makes him at times quite formidable.

I feel I have no answers David. I do my lessons and I endeavour to practice what is required, as much as I able, but he continues to deteriorate. Clearly I am struggling with the application of the Course in my life where it is most required? I feel I am strongly guided by the Holy Spirit, in as much as if I go against my inner voice with any decision, my life undoubtedly goes into turmoil! I am then called to look within to identify the cause, which inevitably allows me to recognise that it is just a dream and I am usually able to let it go. I then snuggle back into my Right mind and everything quickly returns to Love and Light. I try, and am mostly able to deal with most things in this way - which is truly beautiful - most things, of course, except those to do with James.

There is no peace except the peace of God, and I need to help him find it for himself. I am feeling that maybe through my story you can see where you may be helpful, to help me be truly helpful to him.

Thanks for writing and sharing your thoughts and feelings and perceived circumstances. It will be a Joy to meet you in Kangaroo Valley in March.

When something seems to come to our awareness in this world, including a seemingly aggressive and argumentative child, it is just bringing to us an experience that we have asked for in a form that we believe is possible. So the belief system brings us things that which seems to satisfy our prayer or deep desire. Some might call this manifesting. But the most important thing is the prayer of the heart. The deeper you go into spirituality you see that you can only ask for an experience. And you see that the form never brings you the experience. The emotion is always coming from consciousness. As you get wiser and more mature your desire or asking changes; the request from a teenager or mother can seem different than one from a wise master. The teenager might pray for a car or a boyfriend or a girlfriend, the mother for some rest and stability, and the wise master might say; I want peace of mind. So our desire or asking changes as we go through life, until we fully see what the deepest prayer of our heart is; to know our true identity.

The one lesson that we need to learn on earth is the lesson of perfect equality independent of the size of bodies or learned roles. Really this one lesson is an experience of oneness. Parents have an authority problem because they believe that they created the children and therefore have authority over them. It seems like the parents are taking care of the child, but it is again an opportunity to see the perfect equality. That's really what mother-child bonding is about. It's not really a bonding between the bodies. Jesus teaches us that minds are joined and bodies do not. It is more like a telepathic bonding in which you just relax and feel the connectedness. It's an opportunity to relax and enjoy every moment. It's a feeling of connection, the mind is not judging the child, not thinking about the future or the past, not even thinking about a name, it is just in an experience of connection. To feel that connection is the goal of all our mind training by letting go of our judgments.

Everyone is a mirror of the thoughts in the consciousness. Therefore the child is a mirror to the parent and the parent is a mirror to the child. That's why I'm saying: be careful what you pray for, because you always get what you pray for. You can be sure that you are receiving what you are thinking. There are no exceptions to this. So when a parent says I'm having problems with my child, this could be reinterpreted as I'm having problems in my consciousness. You could even say: my child is reflecting my problems in my consciousness or my child is reflecting my issues.

We all have ideas about families, ideas that include memories of our own family past and how we were raised. Many of those memories are very unconscious. Sometimes parents say they want to raise their children differently from how they were raised by their parents, but they are shocked when hearing themselves say the very same words that their parents said to them. Since the past repeats over and over we have to break out of the patterns of the past.

We have to leave over the control to the Holy Spirit. Human beings cannot be partially in control, just like you cannot be partially pregnant. As you begin to see the value of turning things over to the Holy Spirit you can start to include people around you in that. With your son don't talk about anything related to spirituality that you have not experienced yourself. That would only teach speculation. If you do not have a very clear deep direct experience of God, why would you try to explain it to your children? It will only lead to more questions and you might look like a fraud or a phony since your answers would not be genuine. It is a profound thing to be in prayer, in the experience of guidance with what you say and do.

Children can be a great opportunity to practice intuition, because you cannot watch over the child constantly. You have to be intuitive and trusting. The priority is always to be at peace, and a means is to let go of the belief that you can control behavior. You can never control the world of form and the child¡¦s behavior is a part of that. So the parent has never a direct control over the behavior of the child. It is actually impossible. You can control the direction of your thinking, that¡¦s the one thing you have control over. In A Course in Miracles Jesus tells us there are two thought systems, one of love and one of fear. And you can reach the highest potential by practicing listening to the voice for love and using the thought system of love consistently. So in A Course in Miracles Jesus says: 'You may believe that you are responsible for what you do but not for what you think, but you are responsible for what you think and what you do comes from what you think.' So instead of trying to control the behavior, which is an effect, just come back to the mind or the consciousness which is the cause and make a change in your thinking. This does not seem to be easy, but it is definitely the way to peace of mind.

Sometimes you may think that you are personally responsible for the child, if the child gets angry or aggressive for example. But finally the idea of being personally responsible for anything has to go. No body can really be responsible for any body. Atonement or Correction in mind is ultimately the sole responsibility, and the only choice which brings lasting peace.

We can go into the self-concept and the need to release it completely at the Kangaroo Valley retreat. See you soon!

Forgiving the 'unhealed healer'

Hi David,

I want to ask you what do I do when I experience
the ego in my mind. The substance of the ego is
being seen in my mind as an energy of hatred and fear,
attack, pain vengance rage and condemnation. Its so
black and dark. I am afraid of it but im trying to
look at it with the spirit not keep turning away pushing
it into unawareness. Is this the first step? Just keep
looking at it being honest about what it is? At the
moment I am in the experience of the ego being unveiled
to me and its scarey and painful to see.. Can you give
me some help with what to do at this point?

Another issue is coming up for me now around being
at the Endevour Academy for 5 yrs in Byron Bay from
'97 to 2002 under the teaching style of Charles Anderson
or "Dear One" as he was known. The atmospher was very
confrontational, I'm sure you have heard stuff about it.
And I am not writing this to gossip or blame about the
place, i'm just wanting healing for what I think I experienced.
The teachers were confronting alot and humiliating exposing
people in the purpose to expose the ego. It was an environment
of pointing out ego in each other in a very confrontational
aggressive way. There were many cult like attitudes like
always staying in the group and people who left were looked
on badly and were excomunicated. Although I also experienced
alot of Love and Spirit there I was also in constant fear of
being attacked or confronted about the ego so there was
not an environment where it felt safe to expose ego because
you would get blasted for it, confronted, and belittled for it.
Therefore my ego thinking was held in even more and covered over
with Yes I am as God created me even though I felt anything but
that! Things were said alot about us being the denial of God
and being talked to like being told off and repremanded for it.
So I went into alot of guilt and fear about that and feel I didn't
get the true message of the Course untill I stated listening to
your teachings about 3 yrs ago. I have heard you say never confront
anyone. Unless he asks for your help specificlly Then you can
gently point out stuff. Well this is the opposite of what we went
through at the Endevour academey! I still feel effected by this as
this was my first teaching of the course but I have healed a little
from listening to you. It still lingers in my mind a bit. Can you
help me a all with this particular situation.

Beloved One,

Thanks for sharing what is on your heart and for your
willingness to forgive. As you begin to allow the ego to surface
in awareness the process can seem and be interpreted by the ego
as "scarey and painful." As I have traveled the world people have
opened up to me and shared their experiences of what Jesus calls
'the unhealed healer.' These experiences clearly do not reflect
the soft and gentle healingof deep Peace and Clarity of Awakening.
The Holy Spirit never commands or demands, and confrontation and
pointing out errors in others are basic ego tactics that can only
be appropriately viewed with the Holy Spirit as Calls for Love.
Gentleness is a characteristic of an advanced teacher of God,
and those who confront and agressively attempt to label or put
down a brother or sister in the Name of Christ know not what they
do. Humility and meekness far transcend the arrogance and conflict
the ego attempts to reinforce.

The 'unhealed healer' construct extends to those who would attempt
to extend Wisdom under the Name of Jesus Christ and yet attempt
to control people or shame people or exclude people who do not
agree to follow an 'external authority' or 'leader.' The
obviousness of egoic attempts at power and control only points
to the necessity of exposing the ego entirely and looking past
the error to the Atonement with the Holy Spirit. Whenever I
visited brothers and sisters and was asked about confrontations
in the Name of Christ, I always reminded the questioner about
the teaching: "A good teacher never terrorizes his students."

If anyone seems to perceive a teacher who claims to know
something about God or Christ or forgiveness and yet persists
in confrontation and judgments and opinions and grandeosity,
the best advice is to step back in Quietness and align within
to the Gentle Answer of Innocence, which is our natural
Inheritance from God.

The Answer to memories of any seeming attack or abuse is to
allow the thoughts into awareness so that they may be given
over immediately to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. As the core ego
belief is exposed completely it will dawn in awareness that
attack of any kind is impossible. This recognition is the
recognition of the Atonement.

(i am happy to have somebody to talk about the abraham-course issue. i can see what you mean about that abraham is introductory to the course. on the other hand, abraham also teaches merging with higher self/god, just with the difference, that he sees the earth-experience as valuable and not as a mistake, like jesus does. is there really no use in the seperation-experience? is it really a mistake? wouldnt it be better to focus everything on love and thereby having also an amazing time, even here on earth? yes, jesus says that to, but there is a lot of negative talking about the life on earth...i am a little confused about all that. i am very touched by the love in the jesus-teaching, but i am not in the mood of wanting to really wake up.

how do you handle, being here? i thought the two worlds do not meet, like jesus says, so how can you be answering me by mail and be in oneness at the same time? thats something i never understand, with all the teachers...or, do you have your times off, when you go to god? and then you come back here? i dont manage to do that somehow..not in a total way...anyway, love and oneness are real and the only true pleasure, here and anywhere.

regarding awakening and life on earth, abraham makes a lot of sense, since he says, that you cannot merge with god totally, as long as you are in the body. to awaken, is to die, in a way. and i guess i am not ready for that.)

Thanks for writing. Yes, both paths have similarities, though the Abraham material is more introductory and ACIM is a pathway to complete Enlightenment. The experience of desire being single returns the mind to Creation, or Divine Mind. This is a State of Desireless Being, and is the Ultimate of Self-realization. Yet in earth terms, not many are ready for this. So the Abraham material has a great part in the Plan of Awakening.

Hi David!
I've seen your videos on youtube and have enjoyed them. I've been studying ACIM for about 3 years now, and I knew immediately that this was the path for me. It's funny because a lot of things ACIM describes I remember knowing when I was kid, before I found ACIM - like our special loves couldn't be the true love, and that the truth must be simple, amongst many others.

I'm at a point where my understanding of all this has been speeding up, but I hardly feel the peace of god. Most of the time I feel upset or bored. I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I continue to forgive as best as I can, bringing as much as I can to the HS.

How has your experience been? Are you experiencing God's peace more consistently?

Yes, I know of you of course and am touched that you would make contact. Clearmind is ACIM based. We are a Transpersonal School. I travel frequently teaching/lecturing in Canada, US and Europe and host workshops. We have over 100 students studying here in Vancouver our Practitioner training which is certified. That is our graduates can practice counseling with letters after their name and can become members of the Canadian Professional Counselors Association. It took years of hard work to establish this foothold in the mainstream. We are now going online with our Prac program with a virtual classroom this fall so students can take this program anywhere in the world. www.clearmind.com

Our workshops are very experiential and although based on ACIM we do not pontificate in anything resembling dogma, but more keep it as the foundation and part of all that we do. If someone chooses to study the Course we let them make that their own decision.

My brother showed me a picture of a man who looked so peaceful and truly joyful some time ago, and he said " would´nt you wanna be like this all the time, rather than letting life bring you down? My answer was YES I would, offcourse... but my way to my belifes has not been straigth and I´ve had my doubts about the course, im not gonna lie :) But my brother is really in to it and we talk for hours about this many times a week, and my problem whit the whole thing was that i was stuck to the thought that " if this life is a dream there gotta be somebody who´s dreaming the dream", I have felt oneness with everything, but then it became hard to be one whit somebody or something if im still seperated from "the others" by beeing me.
And then a few days ago i got this thougth that really blew me away, i got a little scared first thinking " am I loosing it now, am I crazy" but the thougth was: " if everything i do is something that allready has been thought, then it must mean that im just experienceing something that has allready happend, and then I realiced, Im NOT me, I dont even exist as a person, because I was the whole thought, so that´s all I am, and the things i see are not many things seperated from eachoter it´s just ONE picture. And that´s all it is, A picture that is constantly changeing making me belive im Elin and that im lost, alone whithout God, when im allready whit God lost in a fear not beeing with God... I said i got scared when that thought came to me, and i think my ego cryed like a baby just because i realiced my ego doesn´t even exist, its also just a thought:) and now I am truly happy for this, and it made me feel free and it made me ask myself, "it´s just a matter of truth, for how long do you wanna suffer" and I dont wanna suffer at all!! why should i? :D

Hi David,

I was just drawing a little diagram to become clearer on God's relationship to His Son. Basically I drew God as a big all encompassing circle and placed His Son inside as a part of Him.
But I started wondering of the Son's existence.

I know the Son's described as being exactly like God without separation and the only difference is God created the Son and not vice versa. But why did God create a Son? And if only God Is, then is the Son a thought in mind of God, a thought eternally held?

It's great to meet you! You are a bit of a celebrity in my ACIM circle, and my good friend Faith Gordon recently suggested that I follow you on You Tube. When you friended me on FB, I was a bit, well, joyful I guess because of how I had come to know you...

Anyway, my journey to and through ACIM has been a fun one.

When I was 22 a friend and I were surfing the internet, looking at websites of psychics. I couldn't afford a reading, so I sent one of them an email that I liked their site. She wrote me back and said, 'I see you joining a study group, is it A Course in Miracles?' Because I believed that all psychics were 100% accurate, I researched the Course and found a group near me. I visited about 3 times, and the material went way over my head. Then I thought the psychic was just wrong about which study group, so I joined a Bible Study... and that didn't warm to me either.

I put the idea out of my head, and the next time I ran into the Course, I was in therapy. My therapist introduced me to Marianne Williamson and Jampolsky, although she never had me go directly to the Course. As I studied those two authors, I kept wanting to buy the blue book. Oddly, every time I had the money, the book was out of stock. Every time the book was in stock, I had no money. I finally asked for it as a Christmas gift, and that solved the problem of bringing it to my life. I still didn't understand a word it said, so it went on the shelf.

7 years later, I entered a crisis. A series of events happened which resulted in a friend saying some of the meanest words to me that I had ever heard. Over the next few days I wondered what to say back to him. Finally, after struggling with my response, I decided to meditate for the first time ever. I wrote down what I wanted to say, but it still wasn't making sense, so I hoped the meditation would put the words together for me. At the end of the meditation,I still didn't have an answer and thought it was the biggest waste of 10 minutes I had ever spent. I got out of my chair, turned to pick something off the floor, and the words 'forgive him' entered my head loud and clear. Within minutes I rushed to a box of books that were sitting on the floor in another room. When I opened it, the Course was sitting on top. I opened the book and I suddenly understood every single word as clear as day.

Over the next two weeks I started taking long nature walks. I had dug out some tapes I had of Marianne Williamson and listened to those during the walks. One day, I stopped in the middle of the trail and said, 'I wish I could hear a different message like this every single week.' In three days, an acquaintance called and invited me to lunch. I found out she was also a Course student, and she told me about a group that met in the area as well as a Unity church nearby.

Since then, I've been studying the Course every Wednesday night with an amazing group of people.

I am happy to hear about Canada, how is the new place? I have been great!

My life has changed so very much in the last 6 years. My health is totally improving. My business is less and less of a burden, I just gave away my salon, and downsized to renting a station at a salon in San Rafael. After being a single mother for the last twenty years, and in recovery, All of my broken relations have healed with my family and friends. I am completely blown away with what comes out of my heart and mouth. Life is so good! I have ACIM, and all its teachers, Sharon in particular and Gary’s book has taught me to teach and learn to forgive!
After hearing about the Gary event being cancelled, my mouth said, "We will do it"!!! OMG! I was just moving my business, trying to rent out my house, & had an appointment with my accountant for income taxes this Friday!
In spite of all that, things have been moving smoothly and at a rapid place
I was talking to Cecile and Christian yesterday sharing that
Andrew and I & personally took on the Gary Renard 10/10 event
It got cancelled abruptly with A.C.I.P.

We have never held an event before but we have Love & Joy behind us.
So far, we have had great help from Chip with the start up.
Yesterday I was telling Christian what I was up to; he jumped in offered so much support! I am very happy that we put it back on the rails! We do not expect to get the huge numbers that A.C.I.P were projecting, but if we share what I have unlearned and one mother/daughter can heal the way my family and relations have we are a success!

Hi David!

I first picked up ACIM 15 yrs ago after I saw Marianne Williamson on Oprah and read A Return To Love. After several starts I made it all the way through the text in around 2000. That year I made it 3-4 months through the workbook and I did about the same once or twice again in subsequent years. Early 2007 brought a consistant effort of self improvement that has continued unwaveringly to this day. I had experiences and read books that helped me to understand concepts that opened my eyes. In the fall of 2007 I was suddenly able to pick up ACIM and read where before I had struggled through every paragragh. I have read through the text several times on these last 2 years. I completeted the workbook during the year 2008. At the end of that year I definitely knew that I was not the same person as I was a year before and I felt that my feet were firmly planted on the path to God. I continue to meditate on the workbook lessons every morning and night as I am led to other sources to flesh out my understanding and experience.

I would like to know more about you if you have the time to share.

I study the Course now all by myself, but still makin progress I wonder. How do I use the daily lesson..do I repeat the main sentence over and over. Some of them I need to use that way others are harder to work with like that.

I contemplate them thoug so I bring the energy of what is said with me. But what is the optimal mode of using the lessons?.

Soon I am över the whole ACIM, will be starting anew

David: Happy to be friends. I think that the way you practice is the way the lessons were intended, especially the first time through, with a focus on the main thought for the day. Later, you may want to contemplate and use the lessons more spontaneously, though the first time through is for patience and to learn to relax and persist with the practice.

Do I then repalce all thought with the statements? is that ment so? I forget it many times and think old thoughtpatterns over and over. I kinda "love them" old habits. It takes a lot to always go back to different main ideas of the lessons. I already contemplate lessons and have a lot of AHAS. Ths secon time I wonnna make a BIG brake through. I have been a student of it for about 4 years now and have been experiencing a lot. I don't know if you are familiar with the book Take me to truth: Undoing the Ego? The process in that book is what I have been going through. Total relinquishing of my old ego self, or some call it The Dark Night of the Soul. The process has taken about four years and I think Im in the final stages now. For about the past year I have been pretty much isolated from the world and in solitude, like a catipillar in its cocoon. My old life has gone and a clean slate is presented to me for new beginnings but im kind of in the in between space of old and new life waiting patiently and trusting the Holy Spirit, letting go of Ego control. All I want to do now is teach and learn the truth. I love connecting with other ACIM teachers and students and I hope to learn from there experiences, so I look forward to learning from you and am honoured to be your friend on facebook.

I have read in brief ACIM at one point in my life, but it is not something I have studied in depth. I am delighted by those that do use its principles, such as the well known Marianne Williamson. I am a student of Sant Mat, the path of the Masters, which teaches meditation on the inner light and sound of God irrespective of what religion one belongs to, as no conversion is required....it is simply a matter of inversion. I have found the course quite recently reading the disaperence of the universe about a year ago and quickly buying the course book and reading the text through. I started the work book lessons about 2 months ago and have just found real peace and devotion to the lessons, without to much unconcious resistence. For me I can't really tell you how amazing it is to have found what I was looking for all these years, it explains everything for me about the world and my seeming self, I realise now that in the years running up to life with the course, I had found God, and released myself from most of the ego's useless journeys. The learning of my forgiveness lessons and the return to god are the only things important to me now, for in them are all things complete and at peace. Around 2002 I was having a typical vivid dream that I have experienced since the age of two. In this dream I was looking threw a telescope. Being this was a typical cheep Kmart telescope it was hard to see the star I was looking at as it was fuzzy and very shaky. The fuzziness then stopped and the star became very clear, and my view of the star became two dimensional as I was seeing the star with both eyes now. The view then changed to were I could then see the entire solar system very clear. The view then expanded to me now viewing the entire universe clear and very colorful. By this time my vision was very three dimensional and the view was astonishing. Next I could see the entire universe with the same color, clarity and detention. I was looking at the entire universe and it surrounded me. Next I could see the entire universe and the ends of the universe. I remember thinking how small it actually looked from my vantage point. At that moment beyond the universe I was seeing a grid of light formed like stars that was endless and in order but this had no end and went on forever and I feel the eternity, it was kind of a refreshing feeling and calm. I then awoke.

One night in 2003 I was very restless in bed as usual. My radio was on and a radio show, Coast to Coast AM had a guest named Gary Renard. Although Gary’s interview was cut short and the host of the show was clearly irritated with the topic of true oneness and forgiveness the moment for some reason stuck with me. I ran out the next day and purchased The Disappearance of the Universe. This is the only book in my life I could not put down. For some reason I knew that what I was reading was true. The next step was finding ACIM, I purchased it and was unable to put he book down even to the point of leaving work four hours early to read. One astounding thing I have found is how the two books have no contradiction as all and are the only consistent things I have found in this world, they do not compromise at any time. After that Gary second book came out and as usual I could not put that down also.

I started to practice forgiveness immediately and found that a great place to start was while driving to work and on the way home, things that I found upsetting I started to forgive. The end result has been peace, this peace has been noticed by the people around me. It is true that it is very easy to do but hard to remember that you should do it. I just know that I was to find this in this life and start my was home which is a very comforting thought. From what I have seen I am very fortunate to have found this at what many have considered to be a very early age and to understand it. One side effect of this has been heath, I am a disabled combat veteran but for some reason I only have about five percent of the problems I had in the past. On one can tell me that true forgiveness dose not work.

Not a day goes by I do not forgive, if I am dreaming then I chose to have a happy dream and to love my brothers. I understand now that it is the only thing I can do and the only thing I can give, and I love that.

Well this is funny, I just recently heard about you through a friend who also studies the course. I've been studying it for a few years now, and I've had my ups and downs with it. Although I think I understand a lot of it, I still feel I'm new at this, and I don't yet have so much practical experience, except that I do forgive everything that seemingly happens to me, eventually. And as much as I would like to keep my mind focused on a single purpose, I do tend to get distracted all too often in the affairs of the world.

For instance, I still believe I have to look for that special someone, a special relationship of some sort, to feel happy or completed. Maybe it's a waste of time and effort, but I can't help it. I know not to seek outside myself. And if I would feel my true Unity I wouldn't. But for now, the search continues, and that search, I acknowledge, is for my Self.

Also, I would like to learn to let go of all control and let myself be guided. I guess that takes a lot of practice with trial and error, to see which voice is the only one worth listening to. Hopefully, it won't take me too long.

ACIM came to me when I shed away so much of the past and shifted my life forward to better accommodate GOD and his purpose for me. I briefly met you and went to your talk at the ACIM Conference in San Francisco in February. I really enjoyed your comments, your discussion and your peace that is so incredible. I have been studying ACIM for about 5 years and find it so amazing. It is definitely my spiritual path. I attend a small ACIM group every Wednesday night where we read parts of it and discuss them. I also attended Gary Renard's workshop when he came to Lake Tahoe in July. I listen to the lessons on my ipod in my car most all the time while driving and read a lot of material about it. The fact that we are not these bodies resonates big with me as I spent the first 40 years of my life as a man, fathered two wonderful children and went through a lot to be who I thought I should be. This was after being a 2 time cancer survivor. Cancer changed my life and has now been gone for 12 years and is never coming back. I changed to Julie 10 years ago but have dealt with a lot of guilt from it. If I had found ACIM before I may have made different choices but my gender change is maybe the only reason I found the truth. My life now is very good, I am a picture of health and beside no one wanting to date me because of this I am very happy with my life. I have 2 more years until retirement at only 55 and I hope to become more involved in the ACIM community at that time. Almost no one guesses about my past when meeting me but I usually tell the people I care about because it allows me to be honest and share my past. Recently my studies of ACIM seem to be telling me that I don't need to ever tell this because the past doesn't exist. This is an area that I still have trouble with and lessons to learn. I hope you will keep these facts between you and I as my newer Facebook friends don't know. I was first introduced to ACIM about four years ago. I couldn't understand a word of it. Just sounded like blah blah blah to me. Then I had an OBE and was led back to it. This time I understood it perfectly. I read Ken Wapnick "Absence of Felicity" and "Journey without Distance". I found it helpful to understand who Helen and Bill were, as characters, their mystical journey, the connection to Hugh Lynn Cayce and the voice of course.

I am going through something similar in some ways. I just picked up the course again about two weeks ago. My "voice" banned me off reading except the Ribhu Gita, for the past six months or so. Ribhu is pure non duality without the Christian perspective, and the psychological aspects, of course. However, the guidance has been to return to the Christ consciousness. The other odd coincidence is that I am entrained with a girl who recently became close to the course of miracles monk, Jamie. He is a current student of Ken's. And I actually have Ken's phone number in my inbox, as I was guided to call him. I have not because I have no idea what I would say.

As for the CIM, i'm more like a novice. I pick it up every now and then. My goal is to get into it and read in more consistantly. I feel such peace when I do read it. Although sometimes it is hard for me to take it all in. Reading Gary Renards book "Disapearance of the Universe" really helped me understand it more. Right now im going through a challenging time as with many others regarding issues at my job and finances and what I want to do in life. It feels like im not getting anywhere. I have been reading the course for three years and still have a long way to go, Some things from the course that work for me are: I am as God created me, his son can suffer nothing, and I am his son, and; I am blessed as a son of God. I have read A Course In Miracles (many years ago) and at one time in my life used "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists" a lot in my self-talk. I haven't read any of it a long time -- mainly because the language is kind of off-putting to me. My favorite was The Teacher's Manual that I read at least three times over the years. It is wonderful to meet someone who is as excited about A Course In Miracles as I am. When I started reading the course several years ago I had a visceral palpable experience of an enlightened master (Jesus?) standing beside me. It was so profound and true that I started crying. The more that I read the text the more I was amazed and blown away by the truths contained in it. This book has completely changed my interior life. Nevertheless, I still struggle with my ego....I have yet to finish the workbook; I got stuck early on Lesson 45. The part where this idea is repeated: "My real thoughts are in my mind. I would like to find them." For some reason this brought up so much fear in me that I quit doing the lesson altogether. I know I will one day start them again but I haven't decided whether I should start all over at the beginning or start where I left off at lesson 45...Hmmm.. Do you have any thoughts or advice on that?
Anyway, it is great to meet you and I think it's awesome that you have traveled the world meeting people..

Blessings of Joy! I am preparing for my Europe tour which begins June 12th in Tipperary, Ireland.

Before I leave for Europe I have been preparing posting a heap of profound and

come. I am grateful to witness such a depth of Content and Joy and Love
mirrored with such willingness for practical application and making no
exceptions and leaving no assumption unexposed. The videos on exposing
part/whole deception and ego hypothetical thinking bring to video some of the
topics explored on the Kissimmee mp3s and on the Teacher of Teachers website.
They are revealed in the context of much humor and laughter, as these friends in
Australia reflect a deepening feeling of trust and relaxation and spiritual

Just a quick update, Heard from all the guys in Spain- WOW!! What LIGHT!! Thank you for being there with those guys- I love them so much, and it's Great to have such a powerfully strong light come their way!!

We are leaving for Colombia and ARGENTINA (first time!!!) in about two weeks- hope we can talk before that, and/or I will send you a flyer if you want to send it on to anyOne anyWhere you think there is a strong call...
This is our first time to Argentina, however, Darla and Alden just got back from an incredible three weeks there, came home with a Lot of Light! :)
Nice to hear about Lisa and beautiful Jenny on the road to Karen's. We have been invited to Toronto to show A Course in Miracles Unleashed.

Also, we are writing another musical, to be performed at Easter and beyond- similar to Which Way is Heaven, but with more Quantum ideas, similar to What the Bleep do we know? But with live singers/dancing/acting, parables and ACIM. We got together today, it's going to be Very Funny!

Hi Ellie!

Great news! Happy travels for both of you!

I am in Berlin, Germany, finishing a tour of gatherings that has lasted over 2 weeks.

Kirsten is flying to Ireland next week to apply for a B-2 visa, a tourist visa that is good for up to 6 months in the USA. So if she gets it we all may come together in OH/KY for 6 months in April through September and do some traveling the other months.

So we are seeing what will unfold, and at this point it may take awhile before a base in Europe or the South Pacific emerges.

I return to the USA tomorrow, so we can talk later in the week. Just give me a call when you have a chance, and soon I'll be back in range.

Just was at Crepes and Waffles today in Bogota and was remembering when we were all there,
There was so much light that I just remember the walls disappearing and all of us were just together in a stream of total light. What a time!! (Out of time, :)
I am also going to be calling Alberto Mendoza to meet up with him. We are here for another week, and then to Argentina!!!!

I had made a small error in our travel plans. Unfortunately we will not be back in Australia until the 19th march where we arrive in Brisbane and 6.45 in the morning. We have no plans the next two days from there and we would suggest that you came to our place on the 19th and we could drive you up to Noosa when you are ready.
This is of course only a suggestion and if it doesn’t match your plans we will just see you and Helena in Denmark on June 16. At Anne-Marie's place.

Helena and I will be in the Gold Coast at our friends Raj and Suz, though we may be back up in Brisbane right after Noosa before Helena leaves for Hawaii on April 2nd and I leave for Hawaii on April 3rd.

Let me know if you are free for tea after the 29th and before we leave, as we will be in the south Brisbane area with our friends Mike and Tia at their house.

Just got a question in regards to getting into a daily reading routine of the course. What was and is your daily routine for doing the course?? I seem to do the exercises and then i read some of the text but i seem to be finished in an hour i would like a more extended routine. Can u give me an example of your routine when you did it for 8 hours a day in those two and half years of doing the course every day.

Hello DAvid and welcome to downunder!Id like to propose you something, is it any possibility for you to visit us in the Whitsundays one you finish in Queensland?we are just a tiny group of 4 people who are doing the course by ourowns and having a session last night, someone pop up the ida of inviting you in here as Noosa is the closer point for us but it is quite far, about 12 hours driving, we wil provide you accomodation , flights and our heart!what do you think? :) would be an honour for us , as we are the isolated in here, lolps. there are two airports, Proserpine which is the closest town (around 20 min by car) or Hamilton Island airport (beautiful island 30 min to town by ferry).enjoy your time in the Gold Coast, mucha paz!Julia and the forgotten people ;)

Hi Julia!Thanks for the warm welcome. :) Helena and I finish up our Noosa retreat and will head down to Brisbane around midday on Sat. March 28th, arriving in mid-afternoon. We would love to fly up from Brisbane to Hamilton Island if there is a late afternoon or early evening flight, and take the ferry over to the Whitsundays to meet with your group. We could have a gathering in the evening Sat. or on Sunday, and fly back to Brisbane on Sun. night or Monday morning/afternoon.Check with your group and let me know Julia, and we will see what Holy Spirit can work out. Whichever is least expensive (Proserpine or Hamilton Island airport) will work for us.I will have good Internet and email access through tomorrow and Sat. early morning before leaving for Noosa, so I will check my mail on Facebook. Hi David,Interesting that we are both up in the early hours.I awoke at 3 am and felt a strong inspiration to write about Oneness. I found a beautiful quote by guru Nanak ... "If you can't see God in all, you can't see God at all."Yes, the farm at Kangaroo Valley is beautiful and has many 'attachment temptations'. It provides a nice back drop for inspiration, yet I am gradually realising that all I need and want is God !It would be great to see you back as early as August. I would be honoured to accommodate you and the team, as long as you don't mind a very cosy and comfortable caravan next to our house? I could also help arrange some transport. Just say when.I cannot see any reason why we could not even run a couple of workshops as soon as then. Sue & Greg from Tilba, as well as Tim and Chrystabel from Bowral (who went to Noosa in '08), and I, have been collaborating on the right formula for workshops and what people want. One of the many options, that came up in discussion, was a more intensive, deeper level, workshop for students ready to go to another level.I feel my life has just begun. As I recently said ... I must really Love myself if I managed to dream up a group of people as beautiful as all of you. We are One.David, Thank you. Hi,, yes we should be here in the early or late summer! Sounds like you are not in the US much anyway! Well, did you guys go ahead with being a church, or was it just too much a pain in the ego? hahaha! Whatever you guys decide/remember what you did, you have so much light! Isn't it just amazing, never having to 'decide' for ourselves? Pure Grace!We have a new contact inviting us to Sweden, I don't know when yet- we met her in Argentina, but she is going back to Sweden in May. She's on facebook now, I will try to send you a 'friend request" or "suggested friend". She went through this amazing transformation during the 12 days we were all together in Buenes Aires! Anyway, I am glad we are going to be going to Sweden, I will let you know when it will be!I knew about New Hampshire, for a number of reasons we can't come, but I really do want to do something with you and/or Regina and /or David Fishman! I think the HS has something brewing for us all!! :):)We are leaving for Europe May 19 for two weeks. The guys at our center in Wusterwitz are having a HUGE gathering (ACIM European Summer Festival,) with five countries, five days, and each day will be a different country. (including food and entertainment from that country too.) It is the Last Weekend in May. When will you leave for Europe, and do you have the tickets yet? We found tickets really cheaply through Air France, chicago to Spain, and then coming home from Germany to Chicago for $506.00 Cam and I will be teaching in Valencia Spain the weekend before, and then be in Germany for the ACIM Summer Festival. Hi Ellie!Yes, we formed a legal church called Living Church Ministries based in northern KY, and the website is livingchurchministries.org We have 7 of us using the symbol of ordained minister, and it feels like the church symbol will be used more directly in a few years and for years to come.Please let me know about your new contact in Sweden. Happy to hear about her transformation in BA. I will be in Sweden in July up until the 16th of July, so if you and Cam or she is available it will be fun to come together again.We'll keep open to sharing something together with you two and David Fishman and Regina. I wrote a book on teachings of ACIM based on Endeavor Academy sessions....coming out in about 8 weeks...very lively and my memories of some engaging sessions by lead teacher, or master teacher, and about 50 students (some full sessions, some just excerpts)....called Ask Not the Sparrow, Secrets of "A Course in Miracles".....shorter, simplified, clarified so some exten from the old academy sessionst...I hope it will be an interesting experiment....
